Webdesk: Nick Jonas went to treatment in 2016 because of a mistake he made on stage at The Academy of Country Music Awards.
The singer of “Right Now” said on Dax Shepard’s show “Arm Chair Expert” that he performed live with country singer Kelsea Ballerini on her 2015 song “Peter Pan” with her on stage.
“As I walked towards her, I just blanked out and hit a wrong note. I kind of blacked out and realised it was wrong, but I couldn’t stop.”
“Looking back, I can kind of laugh at how big I thought it,” said the 30-year-old. “I wish it hadn’t gone as far as it did, and I did have to go to therapy because of it,” he said of the “really tragic guitar solo debacle.”
“Even now, hours after unpacking it, I still don’t really know what happened, but I rushed to a car and then a plane right away,” Jonas said. “I looked at my boss and said, ‘I think that was bad.'” I was like in shock kinda. Like, it was a really bad experience that made me feel like I had to be perfect and always on.
