Webdesk: As she lives her life in Miami, Shakira doesn’t seem to want to date Tom Cruise.
Ana Lourdes Martinez told The Post that Shakira isn’t thinking about getting back together after her nasty breakup.
“When friends are in Miami, they hang out together,” she said. “The press wants to make it seem like she’s in love with Tom, but she’s known him for a long time. She cares most about her family.”
Last week, the Mission Impossible star and the Waka Waka singer were seen together at the Miami Formula 1 Grand Prix. This led to rumors that they might be dating.
She was also seen at Cipriani and on a boat ride with racing superstar Lewis Hamilton.
Martinez also said that the mom of two is already being accepted back by her close friends as she settles down in the city she loves. “Miami has always been Shakira’s home and place of refuge,” she told the source. “Even though she lived in Spain most of the time, she loved Miami from the beginning.”
Emilio Estefan, who has won Grammy and Emmy awards and guided Shakira for many years and helped write her song “Whenever, Wherever,” says that Shakira kind of grew up in the city.
“When I met Shak, she didn’t speak English,” Estefan told The Post. “She didn’t think she could make a crossover record. But both Gloria [Estefan] and I thought she was right. Gloria helped her learn English, helped her in the classroom, and pushed for her. Shakira was successful in Miami and, in a way, grew up here.
“Shakira really never left Miami,” Estefan said next. “She stayed in touch and had the house. Everyone is on her side. We treat her like family.”
