PTI to file FIRs against Rangers, NAB for “kidnapping” Imran Khan

Lahore: PTI has chosen to file a case against the Rangers and the NAB for “kidnapping” its Chairman Imran Khan from the IHC on May 9. This announced by the main opposition party on Sunday night.

The anti-graft body had asked the Rangers to arrest the former prime minister in the Al-Qadir Trust case. The prime minister removed from office in April of last year after a vote of no confidence.

On Sunday, Khan led a meeting of the party’s central leadership. They strongly condemned the “abduction” of the PTI chief. And said that a high-powered committee of the Supreme Court should set up to look into the deaths of citizens on May 9. As well as the attempts to cause chaos in the country.

After the arrest of Imran Khan, violent protests broke out in different parts of the country.

During the days of protests, at least 10 people died and dozens more hurt. Since then, internet services have been shut down all over the country.

Protests

After Khan’s arrest, his supporters attacked military buildings, and the army said that May 9 would remembered as a “dark chapter” in the country’s past.

The PTI also said that killings of unarmed citizens during the peaceful protests would be investigated. The statement said that FIRs will filed against Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah. Deputy Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief ministers Mohsin Raza Naqvi and Azam Khan, and police officers, including IGs and others.

The PTI called it “murder of the Constitution” for the Punjab caretaker government to stay in power.

The PTI asked the government to look into whether there was a “pre-planned” plan to cause chaos.

The are also worried about the “handing over” of Islamabad’s Red Zone to the Militia. This was in reference to the key ally of the government JUI-F. Whose leader, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, announced a sit-in in front of the Supreme Court on Monday (today).

In its statement, the PTI promised to use people’s power to stop the ruling alliance from trying to blackmail the Supreme Court or stop it from doing its Constitutional tasks.

On Friday, the PDM said it would hold a “peaceful” sit-in in front of the SC in Islamabad on May 15 to protest Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial for “helping” Imran Khan and giving him “VIP treatment.”

“Free, fair, and immediate general elections are the only way to restore national stability and solve the country’s political and economic problems,” it said.
