ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Imran Khan consented to appear before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi headquarters in the Al-Qadir Trust case.
The anti-graft crusader summoned Khan for a probe into the £190m UK settlement.
The PTI chairman told the NAB that he will be in Islamabad on May 23. To pursue pre-arrest bails and “shall be free from the courts to join the investigation by 11am”.
He claimed he left the NAB inquiry report in the Police Lines resthouse following his arrest.
In the same case, the PTI head skipped a May 18 NAB Rawalpindi appearance. In a five-page written statement, he explained that he in Lahore seeking bail in various instances. Earlier, He did not have time to join the probe.
On May 9, thousands of PTI workers arrested after Khan’s arrest in the same case sparked nationwide rallies that killed at least eight people and injured many others.
The miscreants also attacked Lahore’s General Headquarters (GHQ) and Corps Commander House (Jinnah House) after Khan’s incarceration.
On May 11, the Supreme Court released him and ordered him to appear before the Islamabad High Court (IHC) the following day.
The military and administration have threatened to prosecute vandals who destroyed army sites under the Pakistan Army Act, Official Secrets Act, and other laws.
