Webdesk: Over 1,000 Pakistanis have safely taken out of the war-torn country. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that its evacuation operations out of the war-torn country have ended.
The FO said in a short statement that its operations in Sudan were over. Evacuations through Jeddah would continue until all Pakistanis brought back safely.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs thanked China and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for helping with the evacuation.
“Thanks to Allah’s help and the hard work of our embassy in Khartoum, led by Amb Regi, and supported by Saudi Arabia and China, as well as our teams in Jeddah and Islamabad, we were able to get over 1,000 Pakistanis out of Sudan safely. Our operations to get people out of Sudan are now over,” the FO tweeted.
Yesterday, the ministry said that in the next 24 to 48 hours, nearly all 1,000 Pakistanis would be taken out of the conflict-torn country.
Since the war started earlier this month, the FO working to get Pakistanis stuck in the war zone back home.
First, the Pakistanis in Sudan evacuated to Port Sudan. Then, they moved to Jeddah, where the PAF takes them back home.
Yesterday, the foreign ministry also used Twitter to thank Saudi Arabia for helping Pakistanis who were having a hard time and standing by them.
