ISLAMABAD: Before becoming Pakistan’s caretaker prime minister, Anwarulhaq Kakar has chosen to leave the Senate and the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP).

On August 14, which is Pakistan’s Independence Day, he will take the oath and become the acting Prime Minister.

As the caretaker Prime Minister, I have a lot of important responsibilities. Because of this, I have chosen to quit the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) and leave my Senate seat. All people asked to pray.

— Anwaar ul Haq Kakar, U.S. Senator (@anwaar_kakar), August 13, 2023

Sources who know about the situation have stated that Kakar made this decision. Because he wants to stay completely neutral during the next important political phase.

Anwarulhaq Kakar is a leader from Balochistan. He is of the Pashtun ethnic group and works as an Advisor to the Chief Minister of Balochistan.

He helped start the Balochistan Awami Party and was the government’s spokesperson from 2015 until 2018, when voted to a Senate seat on an independent seat.
