IHC hears PTI’s petition for Imran Khan’s transfer to Adiala Jail

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) is hearing a plea to move Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan from Attock Jail to Adiala Jail, where he is serving a three-year sentence for the Toshakhana case.

Today (Tuesday), IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq is hearing the plea and the Registrar’s Office’s complaints to it.

The PTI filed the petition yesterday, saying that Khan should have better or A-class jail facilities. It is because of his “education, habits, and social and political status.”

The petition said, “Taking into account the petitioner’s social and political status, his education, and the fact that he used to a better way of life, the petitioner entitled to A-Class facilities under Rule 243 read with Rule 248 of Pakistan Prison Rules.”

It also asked that the PTI chair’s lawyers, doctor, and family members allowed to meet with him.

Moreover, Khan arrested on August 5 after a court in the federal capital, Islamabad, found him guilty of corruption connected to the state gift depository. Khan denies the charges against him.

While, Imran Khan given three years in prison and a fine of Rs100,000 by Judge Humayun Dilawar.

Khan taken to Attock jail after he was caught.
