On Tuesday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhry denied reports that Imran Khan requested to meet COAS General Asim Munir.
“Imran Khan has never made any request to meet [the] army chief or any of his representatives,” Fawad tweeted.
He added that President Dr. Arif Alvi has “never approached [the] chairman PTI with any idea of army commander for meeting Shahbaz Sharif” and that such rumours are “baseless”.
The PTI leader’s statement follows veteran journalist Kamran Khan’s tweet today.
Kamran claimed General Munir told the business executives that he had conveyed a message to Imran. He claimed that he conveyed it through President Alvi seeking a meeting with the prime minister.
The COAS stated Imran wanted to meet General Munir instead of PM Shehbaz. “He is not ready to interfere in the political process,” the army chief said.
Last Monday, the former prime minister forgiven everyone, including those who tried to kill him in Wazirabad last year, for the country.
On Saturday, Imran stated that he is willing to communicate to everyone to improve the country through video link from his Zaman Park home.
Moreover, Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb called the PTI chairman “begging for an NRO” in reaction to his willingness to talk.
Imran tallies
Also, Imran stated 76 “terrorist, blasphemy, and sedition” cases are “growing swiftly” against him.
“Neither the officer nor institution identified” in his sedition case, he said.
“This is what happens when a bunch of criminals are imposed on a nation by those without intelligence, morality, and ethics,” Imran tweeted.
