Webdesk: Trinamool Congress claims that the Modi government is unaware of the massive data breach on Telegram, which exposed the personal data of Indian citizens, including high-profile legislators.

Indian media reports include citizens’ Adhaar Card numbers. ID cards used for vaccination, gender, birth year, vaccination center name, voter ID, and PAN card numbers.

The CoWIN platform, where citizens enrolled for COVID-19 vaccinations, leaked data, Malayala Manorama said Monday.

Moreover, The investigation noted that the Telegram bot provides data to everyone on the network when a CoWIN-registered mobile number supplied.

Moreover, The News Minute reported that the details of several politicians, including Telangana’s Minister of Information and Communication Technology Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao, DMK Lok Sabha Member Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, BJP Tamil Nadu President K Annamalai, Congress Lok Sabha Member Karti Chidambaram, and BJP Former Union Minister of Health Harsh Vardhan, were easily available.

While, All India Trinamool Congress spokesperson Saket Gokhale tweeted that Rajya Sabha MP and TMC leader Dered O’Brien. Former Union Minister P Chidambaram, Congress leaders Jairam Ramesh and K C Venugopal, journalists Rajdeep Sardesai (India Today) and Barkha Dutt (Mojo Story), and others had their details leaked.

Gokhale tweeted, “There has been a MAJOR data breach of Modi Govt where personal details of ALL vaccinated Indians including their mobile nos. Aadhaar numbers, Passport numbers, Voter ID, Details of family members etc. have been leaked & are freely available.”

The Telegram bot released Rajesh Bhushan’s phone number and his wife’s, an MLA from Uttarakhand’s Kotdwar Constituency.

Gokhale tweeted multiple data breach inquiries to the administration

Moreover, How did personal details like passport numbers, Aadhaar numbers, etc. get leaked while Modi Govt promises “strong data security”? While, Why isn’t the Modi government, including the Home Ministry, aware of this leak? Who has the Modi Govt given access to sensitive personal data of Indians. Including Aadhaar and Passport numbers, which facilitated this leak? he wrote.

“This is a major national issue. As expected, Ashwini Vaishnaw, who also oversees Electronics, Communications, and IT, is in charge. “How long will PM Modi ignore Ashwini Vaishnaw’s incompetence?”

He also alleged that senior journalists Rajdeep Sardesai, Barkha Dutt, and Rahul Shivshankar had their personal information leaked.
