308 Palestinians, Including Women and Children, Martyred; Threats of Ground Invasion
Gaza, Tel Aviv, Washington (International News) – Israeli forces have violated the ceasefire, launching a brutal bombardment on fasting Palestinians in Gaza during the holy month of Ramadan. The attacks have resulted in the martyrdom of over 308 Palestinian civilians, including women and children, with dozens more injured. Additionally, the Israeli military has issued threats of a ground invasion.
According to Qatar-based media, Gaza City was rocked by continuous explosions as Israeli forces intensified their airstrikes. The assault took place while civilians were asleep in their homes, refugee camps, and school buildings. The Gaza Ministry of Health reported that Israeli forces carried out 35 airstrikes at the time of Suhoor.
In northern Gaza alone, 154 Palestinians have been martyred, while overall figures indicate at least 308 casualties, according to Al Jazeera. Hamas has condemned the Israeli attack, accusing it of treacherously targeting defenseless civilians to sabotage the ceasefire agreement. Palestinian Islamic Jihad also accused Israel of deliberately undermining the ceasefire that had been in effect since January 19.
Gaza residents described waking up to deafening explosions as Israeli airstrikes targeted multiple areas, including Jabalia, Gaza City, Nuseirat, Deir al-Balah, and Khan Younis. Homes, residential buildings, shelters, and refugee tents were struck, reducing entire structures to rubble and leading to significant casualties—particularly among women and children.
The Gaza Ministry of Health has confirmed that at least 232 people have been killed in the recent wave of Israeli airstrikes. Since the beginning of the conflict, a total of 48,572 Palestinians have been martyred, with over 112,000 injured. Gaza’s official media office reports that the overall death toll exceeds 61,700, with thousands still presumed dead beneath the rubble.
Hamas Political Bureau member Izzat al-Rishq accused Israel of sacrificing its remaining captives in Palestine, stating that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s decision to resume war effectively sentenced them to death. In a statement reported by CNN, al-Rishq claimed that Netanyahu was using military aggression to achieve what he had failed to secure through negotiations. He called upon Arab and Islamic nations, as well as the global community, to take to the streets in protest against Israel’s devastating assault on Gaza.
Hamas further urged people worldwide to raise their voices against the renewed Zionist aggression in Gaza. Meanwhile, Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, defended the attacks, asserting that Israeli operations would continue until all hostages were released. He stated ahead of a UN Security Council meeting that Israel would not halt its offensive until every Israeli captive was returned.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that he had directed the Israeli military to escalate operations against Hamas. He accused the group of refusing to release prisoners and rejecting ceasefire proposals. A statement from his office declared that Israel would now proceed with increasing military pressure on Hamas.
Hamas, for weeks, has accused Netanyahu of deliberately prolonging the war. Meanwhile, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt revealed that Israel consulted with former U.S. President Donald Trump before launching its latest attacks on Gaza. Speaking to Fox News, she reiterated Trump’s stance that Hamas, the Houthis, Iran, and other adversaries would face severe consequences for their actions.
Leavitt warned that groups like Hezbollah, Hamas, and Iranian-backed militias should take Trump’s words seriously, as he remains committed to standing by Israel and its allies.
Meanwhile, an Israeli military official, speaking to Reuters, threatened a potential ground invasion of Gaza, stating that the offensive would continue “for as long as necessary” and could extend beyond airstrikes.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz further warned that if Hamas failed to release all hostages, Gaza would face unprecedented destruction. He declared that the intensity of attacks would surpass anything seen or heard before.
