Nagpur (International News) – Communal tensions between Hindus and Muslims have escalated in the Indian state of Maharashtra following protests over the proposed demolition of Emperor Aurangzeb’s tomb.

During the demonstrations in Nagpur, several vehicles were set on fire, homes were pelted with stones, and multiple individuals sustained injuries. Authorities have taken 20 people into custody, and Section 144 has been imposed in the city to prevent further unrest.

The situation deteriorated after protests led by Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad. Congress leader Arshwardhan held the state government responsible for the riots, stating that the violence was a direct consequence of state ministers inciting people towards aggression.
