King Charles’ revival of THIS royal custom may be “risky”: report

News Editor 14 June, 2023
King Charles

Webdesk: Since the 1600s, the official birthday of the British monarch marked by the Trooping the Colour event.

For his 75th birthday on Saturday, King Charles has chosen to bring back an old tradition and take the salute from troops on horseback.

He will be the first British king to take the salute from troops on horseback in more than 30 years.

Queen Elizabeth II, who died in 2002, was the last queen to ride at the event. She was 60 years old at the time, 15 years younger than Charles.

Now, Hello magazine says that this might not be the best choice for King.

The story says that King Charles’s plan to ride a horse at age 75 could be “risky” because the temperature is going to rise to around 26 degrees Celsius.

Also, riding a horse is hard work, and people think that could make King Charles’s back pain worse after he hurt himself playing polo years ago.
