KPK Chief Minister Sohail Afridi Announces Contempt of Court Petition, Urges Judiciary to Ensure Transparency

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has announced plans to file a contempt of court petition after being denied a meeting with Imran Khan. Speaking to media at Dahgal checkpoint, Afridi said, “We are requesting the Supreme Court to uphold the supremacy of the Constitution, as the orders of three judges have not been implemented.”

He added that justice in Pakistan appears to be under influence and decisions are made on directives from certain quarters. Afridi stated, “The day true justice is served, Imran Khan will walk free.” He also mentioned that judges themselves have written letters about interference in their decisions, urging them to disclose who is exerting pressure on the judiciary.

Afridi clarified that not meeting the party founder doesn’t mean he isn’t receiving messages from him. When asked why the cabinet hasn’t been formed yet, he replied, “The real question is why I am not being allowed to meet my leader, despite being elected by the people’s mandate.”

Meanwhile, during Afridi’s return, a scuffle broke out between YouTubers and party workers. The incident occurred when a YouTuber tried filming the Chief Minister’s vehicle, sparking tension. PTI workers accused the YouTuber of being linked with Ali Amin Gandapur and receiving money from him. Other workers intervened to calm the situation.
