The Indian government has released a controversial book titled Operation Sandhoor, which is being widely criticized for spreading disinformation about Pakistan. The 117-page book, allegedly generated using artificial intelligence, is attributed to 20 Indian analysts and columnists, many of whom are reportedly linked to India’s intelligence agency RAW — though no authentic citations are provided.
Critics note that the book lacks proper research, factual references, and any serious strategic analysis. Several inconsistencies are present, particularly in reported casualties and the duration of the so-called operations like the Pahalgam False Flag and Operation Sandhoor.
The book superficially mentions India’s military and diplomatic blunders and completely ignores the real losses suffered during the operations. It also contains inappropriate language against former U.S. President Donald Trump and criticizes Israel for not offering more explicit support.
Analysts argue that the publication is a failed attempt to whitewash institutional failures of India’s government, military, and intelligence services. It also highlights the growing erosion of freedom of expression in India and reflects the state’s increasing reliance on institutionalized propaganda.
