Pakistan has been elected as a member of the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs for the term 2026 to 2029 — a clear reflection of global confidence in the country’s role on international platforms.
The election took place in New York under the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). Pakistan’s Permanent Mission to the UN expressed gratitude for the support and reaffirmed the country’s readiness to contribute effectively to global anti-narcotics efforts.
Pakistan continues to play a significant role in combating the production, smuggling, and use of narcotics and has remained actively engaged in UN-level policy discussions on drug control with a constructive and responsible approach.
