Karachi: At the Arts Council of Pakistan on Sunday, Mahira Khan and her host Anwar Maqsood had a heart-to-heart talk. The evening was full of funny talks about politics, The Legend of Maula Jatt, and how important it is for women in Pakistan to be financially independent.

Anwar used the conversation to ask Mahira about her political beliefs. The starlet finally said, “I’m with Pathaan.” after being asked three times. She then talked about how Pakistan needs a leader who is honest. “Honest people are hard to find these days. Honesty is important at work and in relationships.”

When the famous screenwriter heard Mahira’s point of view. He said, “See, Quaid-e-Azam was also a good man, but he died less than a year after taking power. Imran is also honest, and he has been alive and well for the past three years. Just like one fish can make the whole river dirty, one honest person can change the whole country. To change the whole system, it takes more than one person.”

He went into more detail about his point of view, “Everyone wants to go abroad, send their kids to school abroad, and even get medical care in another country. We all know that this isn’t possible. Let’s not think about dishonesty; it’s not just honest leaders who make a country thrive; dishonesty is everywhere.”

Mahira then asked Anwar what he would do if he were ever to become the leader of Pakistan. “I will forgive all the dishonest people,” he said. “I’ll set them free. Pakistan has 23 million people, and if it became Riyasat-i-Madina, 19 million of them would have their hands cut off. If this country turns into the old Riyasat-i-Madina, we’re doomed, and if it turns into a newer version of itself, we’ll have a plague.”
