Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has finalized its nominations for the position of Opposition Leader in both the Senate and the National Assembly. According to party sources, the consultation process concluded following directions from PTI founder Imran Khan.
Sources revealed that Mahmood Khan Achakzai has been nominated as Opposition Leader in the National Assembly, while Allama Raja Nasir Abbas will take the same role in the Senate. Initially, several members of the party expressed reservations over these nominations, but consensus was reached after direct guidance from Imran Khan.
PTI’s official communication regarding both names will be sent to the Speaker’s Office today. Party lawmakers are also completing the formal approval process.
Analysts view this move as a significant step toward ending internal divisions within the opposition and ensuring a stronger presence of PTI in both parliamentary houses.
