Moscow (International News): Russia has launched a retaliatory airstrike on the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, following a large-scale drone attack by Ukraine.
According to international media reports, prior to agreeing to a ceasefire, Ukraine carried out a major assault on Russia using more than 300 drones, resulting in three fatalities and 18 injuries. Russian media reported that 91 of these drones reached Moscow but were successfully intercepted and destroyed. In response, Russia has now targeted Kyiv with airstrikes. Kyiv’s mayor claimed that Russian forces conducted air raids throughout the night. However, no reports of damage or casualties have emerged so far.
Meanwhile, in a significant diplomatic development, Ukraine agreed to a 30-day ceasefire with Russia during negotiations held in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday. The agreement was reached after more than eight hours of talks in Jeddah between Ukrainian and U.S. officials. The American delegation was led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, while Ukraine was represented by officials from the presidential office, the foreign minister, and the defense minister.
