U.S. President Donald Trump has once again slammed China over what he described as unfair trade practices, stating that no country — especially China — will be exempt from tariffs.
Speaking on trade policy, Trump said tariffs on mobile phones would be announced soon, though with some flexibility. He added that a final decision on semiconductor tariffs will be made next week, with limited exemptions for select companies.
The President emphasized that the era of one-sided trade is over, and America will respond firmly to countries that exploit its market.
Meanwhile, China has urged the United States to withdraw retaliatory tariffs and return to the path of mutual respect. A spokesperson from China’s Ministry of Commerce stated that the U.S. should correct its course and eliminate aggressive trade measures.
Currently, most Chinese products face tariffs of up to 145% in the U.S., while China has imposed tariffs as high as 125% on American imports — escalating tensions between the two major economies.
