Webdesk: A United Nations study said that 20 countries, are at risk of getting too much rain. It is because El Nino is expected to come back in June. It includes Pakistan as well.

According to a study from the Food and Agriculture Organization’s (FAO) Global Information and Early Warning System (GIEWS), there is a chance of heavy rain and flooding in Pakistan again this year.

Afghanistan, Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bhutan. Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Mexico. Paraguay, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, the United States, and Uzbekistan are some of the other countries.

The study says that this event is likely to happen again in June 2023, three years after La Nia.

It also said that key cropping areas in Central America, Southern Africa, and Far East Asia should expect dry weather. While, Near East Asia and East Africa should expect too much rain and possible floods.

The study said that El Nino is one of the main causes of extreme weather events that pose high risks to food security around the world.

Study said that by 2022, there could be as many as 222 million people in 53 countries and territories who don’t have enough food to eat.

The study said that the world had its third La Nina event in a row in 2022 and early 2023. This is a rare event that has only happened twice since 1950.

Most of the time, when La Nina happens, it rains more in Australia and dry in the US, South America, and East Africa.
