Army chief pledges to bring those responsible for ‘Black Day’ vandalism to justice.

Rawalpindi: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir has promised to bring to justice everyone who planned, helped, incited, or carried out acts of mischief on “Black Day” (May 9). It was the day when violent protests broke out across the country after former prime minister Imran Khan arrested.

ISPR said that the army chief said this while he was at the Corps Headquarters in Peshawar.

According to the ISPR, the army chief said that the armed forces will not put up with any more vandalism. He also said that all the people who helped, or started the vandalism on May 9 will brought to justice.

The COAS also spoke to the officers of the Corps and talked about how the threats to national security were changing.

The COAS quoted as saying, “We will keep working for peace and stability, and there will be no room for those who want to stop us.”

ISPR said that the army chief also talked about the difficulties of information warfare and efforts to make people think wrong things.

He pointed out that people who want to hurt the military forces are working together to do so. He promised that these bad plans would fail with the help of the people of Pakistan.

During the visit, Gen. Munir also given a full rundown of the current security situation and ongoing measures to fight terrorism.

He was happy with how well law enforcement agencies were doing their jobs and what they had accomplished in the fight against terrorists.

Corps Commander Peshawar met the COAS when he arrived earlier.
