Webdesk: Arshad Nadeem, who won a gold medal in javelin throwing at the Commonwealth Games, hopes to make a good comeback at the World Athletics Championship after hurting his knee in 2021.
Arshad is getting ready for the world event, which will take place in Hungary from August 25 to 27.
Nadeem told Geo News that he has fully healed from the injury while he was training at the Punjab Stadium in Lahore.
Arshad said, “I have fully healed from the knee injury.” “Unfortunately, I was hurt and couldn’t go to the Asian title. But I’ve started full-time training and am looking forward to winning medals in the upcoming games,” he said.
After the World Athletics Championship, Nadeem will take part in the Asian Games, which start on September 23 in Hangzhou, China.
The national winner also wants to go to the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
“My goal is the Olympics next year. I want to get ready once more for the Olympics. The government has given me facilities, but they could be better to meet world standards, as he pointed out.
“My Indian colleague Neeraj Chopra has a lot more to work with than I do. “That’s what makes us different,” he said in the end.
At the 34th National Games, Arshad hurt his knee, which needs to be mentioned here.
Akram Sahi, the head of the Athletics Federation of Pakistan, said that Nadeem had hurt his right knee. Last year, the javelin runner had surgery on his left knee.
Sahi also said that WAPDA was to blame because they made Arshad go to the National Games, where he won a gold medal.
