Islamabad: The process of removing illegal Afghan migrants continues smoothly, with 1,336 individuals deported with the help of relevant authorities. In a crackdown across various cities, hundreds of Afghan nationals have been detained.
The Punjab Police spokesperson reported that over 2,700 foreign nationals were transferred to holding centers within 24 hours. IG Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized that all illegal migrants would be sent back, urging officials to speed up the deportation process.
To aid in identifying illegal Afghan migrants and their facilitators, the Ministry of Interior has set up a helpline. Afghan migrants in Rawalpindi are already shutting down businesses and disappearing, while vehicles and heavy machinery used by them are being sold in local markets.
The police in various regions, including Gujar Khan and Karachi, have intensified efforts, arresting dozens and deporting hundreds. In Karachi alone, 307 Afghan nationals were deported between April 1st and 6th.
In Rawalpindi, 353 Afghan nationals have been detained since April 1st, while Hafizabad police have captured over 120 individuals in a crackdown on illegal immigrants.
