Webdesk: Hina Bayat Khan is spending Ramazan with Turkish earthquake victims. The 51-year-old visited earthquake-stricken areas to visit those who lost homes and loved ones.

Khan, accompanied by a team of volunteers bringing food, medical aid, and other critical items to those in need, visited hospitals to provide support and encouragement to those affected in the tragedy in this holy month.

Khan posted photos from Turkey on Instagram to show her support for the victims and emphasise the significance of aiding the needy during Ramazan. “Ramazan is about love, compassion, and service. “It’s a moment to recognise the less fortunate and share what we have,” she wrote.

She continued, “Antakya — once a wonderful city, today ruined by the earthquake. Several buildings remain, however they are inaccessible due to gaping holes and fissures. Help rebuild these homes. Rebuild lives! ”

The Churails actor, who visited Syria earlier this month and remained with the victims in tents, published various posts about their living conditions. “Losing your house, losing your family, unable to find your loved ones, unable to bury your dead, unable to go home… again! War and disaster have robbed Syria’s beautiful people. Alhamdulillah for every blessing, they smile through their tears. I appreciate their humanity.”

She also tweeted photos of Syrian-Turkish refugee populations. “Walking into Syria from Turkey, past 4000-year-old olive groves, we observe rows upon rows of people displaced in their own country, forced to live in tents among the olive trees. A decade later, she wrote.

The October 2020 earthquake killed over 40 and injured hundreds. It also destroyed buildings and infrastructure. Khan has collaborated with Pakistani organisations to promote education, health, and women’s rights.
