Pilots Grounded? Israeli Airmen Fired for Demanding Gaza Ceasefire

Tel Aviv, April 11, 2025:
Israeli Air Force reserve pilots demanding a ceasefire in Gaza and the safe return of hostages held by Hamas are facing serious consequences. Authorities have begun the process of dismissing these personnel.

According to AFP, over 1,000 reserve and retired air officers signed a public letter criticizing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s war policies, urging an end to the fighting which they claimed serves political interests rather than national security.

The Air Force Commander, backed by the Chief of General Staff, ordered their dismissal. Netanyahu also voiced his full support for the action, stating that such views damage military morale and embolden enemies.

The Israeli government labeled the letter as harmful propaganda and reiterated that undermining the military in times of conflict would not be tolerated.
