Tracks repaired hours after Hazara Express crash

NAWABSHAH: Hours after the Hazara Express derailed between Shahzadpur and Nawabshah on Sunday afternoon, both tracks repaired on Monday.

30 people died and nearly 100 injured when 10 bogies derailed.

The restoration work completed by Monday night at 10:33pm, about 33 hours after the Karachi-Havelian train derailed.

The broken lines halted all scheduled trains from Karachi to other cities in Pakistan.

Trains resumed after 18 hours when the fallen track repaired. The up track restored.

Moreover, The collision damaged 300 to 400 feet of uptracks, according to federal railway inspector Ali Mohammad Afridi. Both rails now repaired.

While, A day ago, reports said investigators would check the site to gather evidence for the investigation.

Afridi said that a site visit scheduled for Monday and that the probe will begin four to five days after recording statements from related parties.

Moreover, He said the track, coaches, and locomotives investigated, and the marks on the damaged tracks were nut bolts and wheel flanges.

There were no fish plates connecting the line at the accident location and a piece of wood was inserted to patch the fractured track.

The study blames engineering and mechanical engineering. The derailment damaged the engine’s wheels, and the investigation may find sabotage.

Six policemen disagreed on the original report.
